Page 1 of 8 On 14 August 2007, two focus groups were held in Brisbane. A number of wide ranging issues was raised by participants. Many of these issues were seen to contribute to the accumulated misunderstandings/understandings within and across the sector, while others spawned nuances of meaning of issues already raised in the research. Initial discussion enabled participants to clarify the purposes of the research. While the broader purpose of the research (as for all research) was about change, the theme of the study, leadership and management, was explained as an exploratory idea, a “crutch”, and a means of accessing understandings/misunderstandings within and across the SE and FP sectors. With this accumulated knowledge, leadership capability and capacity might be strengthened within the SE sector leading to its greater social impact and effectiveness. |
