From the Act Now website:
ActNow is driven by young people and is an initiative of the Inspire Foundation.
ActNow makes complex issues simple, provides practical advice and opportunities to take action.
ActNow gives young people a space to share their own story and the actions they are undertaking.
ActNow responds to the things you care about. We develop content and features as suggested by young people.
We launched on the 9th of May this year, and receive close to 4000 unique users each day. We have three goals
To provide a space where young people can get accurate information about issues that affect them and their community – when they need it. Sometimes we need more information to understand an issue, why it exists and who it affects. Sometimes you want to make a difference, but there are gaps in your knowledge. You might want to find out the background to an issue, hear what the benefits to taking action are, or find out what organisations work on the issue you care about.
ActNow helps you understand.
To provide a space where young people can improve their skills, confidence and rate of participation in their community. By creating a space that provides information on current issues, offering useful tools, stories and ideas on how to take action, ActNow is there to help you build the skills and know how to get involved in your community.
To provide a supportive network and role models for action. The members of ActNow show the contribution of young people to create change.
